Our Inclusion department are a talented and caring team of professionals who are highly skilled in meeting a wide and varied range of individual student needs.
We are proud to be an inclusive mainstream secondary school fully committed to supporting each and every one of our students to ensure they reach their full potential. We have high aspirations for all our students and we work with them to give them the skills, knowledge and confidence to be the very best they can be.
Our SENCo, Lara Tizard, works alongside intervention specialists and a team of teaching assistants who provide support and guidance for students with individual needs, developing independent learning skills and confidence within the classroom and beyond.
Our team are based in the Hub which is a safe and nurturing space for students to access. It offers specialist equipment and a calm environment in which our students can thrive.
Teaching staff work hard to ensure their lessons are highly personalised so that all students can succeed and thrive. Our teachers and support staff work closely with students who have special educational needs to ensure they can fully access the curriculum putting in place bespoke and effective strategies to remove any barriers to learning.
The partnership between home and school is vitally important for the success of all our students and no more so than those students who have individual needs when transferring to secondary education. We have a detailed induction plan tailored to the meet the needs of these students with additional visits and meetings to ensure that when your child starts with us we have all the necessary information to enable us to meet their needs. We also have strong and effective partnerships with a wide range of external agencies to provide the best education possible for our learners using the most up to date research to support with this.
